Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why test male hormones?
Hormonal imbalances in men can lead to fatigue, depression, poor sexual function, and muscle loss. This test helps uncover what’s going on.
What’s a Free Androgen Index (FAI)?
It estimates how much active testosterone is available in your body (unbound and usable), by comparing testosterone to SHBG.
What is PSA and why is itimportant?
PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) helps detect prostate abnormalities. Elevated levels can signal inflammation, enlargement, or early signs of cancer.
Is this test suitable for men under40?
Yes — especially for those with symptoms or interested in early health monitoring.
Can I use this to track hormone therapy?
Absolutely. This panel is ideal for tracking the effectiveness and safety of testosterone or fertility treatments.
What are the signs of low testosterone levels in men?
Fatigue, reduced muscle mass, low libido, mood swings, poor concentration, and changes in body fat distribution are some common signs of low testosterone levels in men.
At what age should I consider taking this test?
While there’s no fixed age for male hormone testing, many men start considering it from their 30s onwards, especially if they notice symptoms such as low energy, reduced libido, muscle loss, or mood changes.
What causes a male hormone imbalance?
Male hormone imbalance can result from aging, stress, poor lifestyle habits, medical conditions, or certain medications. Identifying the cause helps in choosing the right treatment and restoring balance.
